I stopped smoking.

I haven’t been a regular smoker since my teens, but, like clockwork every year in the spring when the weather starts getting sunny and nice, I feel the urge to go buy a pack of cigarettes and smoke. From spring to fall I’d wrestle with trying to quit and finally give it up, only to find the same urge next spring. Maddeningly, I didn’t really understand what was causing this urge. Being coached by Marty, I was able to see the patterns that led to this urge. Our session together didn’t shame me for my behavior, nor trigger my defenses, it was a calm and systematic interaction that helped me see that urge for what it is. I finished the last pack of cigarettes, and I haven’t bought another or smoked a cigarrette in weeks.
